Release of Computer Database Information for Challenge Grant II

STANDING ORDER NO. 312
RELEASE OF COMPUTER DATABASE INFORMATION
FOR CHALLENGE GRANT II APPLICATION

THE COURT HEREBY FINDS pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Sections 827 and 827.1 that the San Francisco Department of Juvenile Probation has a compelling need to release computer database information to either the Department of Human Services of the Department of Public Health - Children's Mental Health Services of criminal history information including contact dates, charges filed, petitions filed, dispositions, detention and release dates for juveniles under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Juvenile Court for the period from 1996 through 1998. This information is to be used strictly for the purpose of providing statistical information for the City's Challenge Grant II application to be submitted to the California State Board of Corrections.

Pursuant to the provision contained in the letter of Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Jesse E. Williams, Jr., attached hereto, the Court further finds that appropriate provisions have been implemented to protect the privacy and confidentiality rights of minors.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that employees of the San Francisco Department of Juvenile Probation may provide to either the Department of Human Services or the Department of Public Health - Children's Mental Health Services information regarding criminal history including contact dates, charges filed, petitions filed, dispositions, detention and release dates for juveniles under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Juvenile Court for the period from 1996 through 1998. This information is to be used strictly for the purpose of providing statistical information for the City's Challenge Grant II application to be submitted to the California State Board of Corrections, and the measures outlined in the attached letter, to ensure the confidentiality of this information, shall be implemented.
