Online Traffic School Registration Information
Eligibility Requirements
You may choose to attend traffic schools online or attend a class for certain vehicle violations. Please note that both online and classroom attendance must be obtained from approved schools. To be eligible for the Traffic Violator School Program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You have a valid Class C California driver's license or you have a valid Class A, Class B, or commercial Class C driver's license and your violation was in a vehicle that requires only a Class M or noncommercial Class C license.
- You are not currently attending, and have not attended, a traffic school program for a citation issued within 18 months and one day of your current citation.
Traffic School Fees
There are court fees and a fee charged by the traffic school. To register for traffic school, you must pay:
- The bail (fine).
- A state-mandated, non-refundable administrative fee of $57.
Please note: If you chose to take an online traffic school from an approved traffic school, you must pay the bail (fine) and the administrative fee before the completion of the online school. If payment has not been received, your certificate will be rejected.
- A traffic school fee ranging from $20 - $45.
After meeting the above eligibility requirements and enrollment has been confirmed, you will receive by email or U.S. mail a Traffic School Agreement with a disposition date. The Court must receive the certificate you earn from traffic school on or before the disposition (due) date. You may attend only the DMV-Approved Classroom and Online Traffic Schools.
